Wai-Han (慧嫻; pronounced Y-Hun) is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) and EMDR therapist who works with adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and relational challenges. She offers a compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approach, supporting clients in developing greater internal freedom, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of agency in their lives.
Raised in a shame-based cultural environment, Wai-Han personally experienced how words and relationships can shape identity, self-worth, and emotional well-being. Her own healing journey has deeply informed her therapeutic work and her passion for helping others move from self-criticism toward self-compassion, empowerment, and wholeness. She values the courage it takes to seek support and strives to create a safe, respectful, and collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood.
Wai-Han integrates narrative therapy with evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, CBT, solution-focused therapy, and trauma theory. She is also deeply committed to holistic healing and continues to pursue advanced clinical psycho-spiritual education, believing that emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of life are interconnected.
Her professional background includes over 14 years as an educator in Hong Kong and extensive experience working with vulnerable populations, including students, families, and older adults in healthcare settings. She has also been involved in social justice and anti–human trafficking initiatives across Southeast Asia. These experiences have shaped her intercultural sensitivity and her ability to work thoughtfully with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Wai-Han completed her post-secondary education in Scotland and has lived and served in multiple countries, including Romania, Australia, Hong Kong, Macau, China, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, and Nepal. In 2020, she relocated to Canada and became a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. In Fall 2025, she moved to Vancouver to pursue intensive Clinical Psychospiritual Education, further deepening her work in hospital and long-term care settings with patients, residents, and families.
She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and is passionate about languages and cultures. Wai-Han looks forward to journeying alongside clients as they move toward healing, integration, and meaningful change.

Humans are social creatures… Attachment matters… We feel therefore we are.”
